On the Beach
Lyrics and music © 2007 Eleanor Fye
He was there in her dreams a long
time ago
He was standing beside her on a
beach
She was holding their baby
They were wearing white robes
And the water rushed onto their
feet
And she knew she had seen him
before he arrived
And she knew that without him she
would have survived
And the joy was complete in the
dream and on land
It became true the minute her feet
touched the sand
Hold the dream
Have faith that the waves will return with the
tide
Hold the dream
And know that you always will find your way
home
Then he came to her life and held
her so close
They were dancing together on a
beach
As the sun slowly laid down they
took off their robes
And he lifted her off of her feet
And she knew that in life there
was no greater bliss
Than the softness and tenderness
of his sweet kiss
And the joy was complete in the
dream and on land
It became true the minute her feet
left the sand
Chorus
Years later he passed on and left
her alone
She was spreading his ashes on a
beach
And the water then claimed him
And took him beyond where her
loving strong arms couldn’t reach
And she knew she would see him
even after he’d gone
And she knew that without him she
would have to go on
But the joy was complete in the
dream and on land
It became true the minute the
waves touched the sand
Chorus
